Get the Dirt w/ Daniel Lamarche

I am Daniel Lamarche, and I have been gardening most of my life, and for more than 40 years on the West Coast.

For the last 4 years, I have been more serious at it, taking courses and enlarging my food garden.

What I love about gardening is that it is a constant challenge, and I love nature and the outdoors.

This is my garden plan for this year:

At the moment, I am growing mostly cold weather vegetables like lettuce, onions and potatoes, and I’m starting seedlings for the summer in my small greenhouse.

In the pictures below, you can see the seedlings I have planted under protection from birds, bugs and frost (left), some seedlings that are ready to be planted now in the garden (centre) and seedlings for the greenhouse like tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, waiting for warmer weather (right).

What I like to grow most are peppers, maybe because they are such a challenge, and I like to eat them!

Get the Dirt is a series of interviews with west coast gardeners meant to educate, inspire, & celebrate community-based food cultivation.
