About
Do you love gardening but don't have much gardening space available? Would you like to grow your own food but don't want to invest too much time or resources to get started? Do you travel or swap houses frequently and you dream of a portable garden you could move around with? If that's the case, this is the perfect workshop for you!
In this workshop, you will learn everything you need to know to grow food successfully in any kind of container. We will apply the principles of organic gardening to gardening in containers. You will learn how to create a "lasagna bed" in the containers, how to take care of your container garden, which vegetables grow best and which basic materials you need to create your garden.
During the workshop we will provide you with all the materials to start your first container garden, you will just need to bring a container you would like to use (recommended size: 3-5 gallons). It can be a regular garden pot, an empty bin you have laying around the house or a repurposed container like a coffee tin!
If you don't have any containers, don't worry, just contact our program coordinator Beatriz at beatriz@tofinocommunityfoodinitiative.com and we will provide you with one.
This workshop is limited to 8 participants so don't hesitate to reserve your spot.
